What is Aikido?
Aikido is a Japanese martial art created in the 1920’s by Morihei Ueshiba, one of the most prominent martial artists of his time. It is performed by blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting his force rather than opposing it head-on. Consistent with this core principle, Aikido has no competition and its goal is to refine one’s mind and body through diligent training and cooperation.
