Although our dojo has quite recently been established, it has been getting some welcome attention, which in turns has helped us recruit new members at a steady pace. This month, we are very proud to let you know that our head instructor, Guillaume Erard Sensei is featuring in a brand-new interview published by Hiden Monthly (月間秘伝), the most popular martial arts magazine in Japan.
Hiden Monthly specializes in traditional Japanese martial arts and has for decades been the major player in terms of helping the public discover schools and instructors, with regular contributor such as Hino Akira Sensei, Kuroda Tetsuzan Sensei, to name just a few. The editorial team often highlights the work of foreigners learning and teaching martial arts in and outside of Japan, and it seemed quite natural that they would take interest in that foreigner with ranks in both Aikido and Daito-ryu Aiki-jujutsu, who took it upon himself to start an Aikido dojo in Japan, its origin country, right in the midst of the pandemic!
Guillaume shares his thoughts about both martial arts, and on the teaching of Aikido in Japan and aboard. If you wish to read the interview in its original language, you can order that particular issue of Hiden Monthly on Amazon.
